Party officials support the rule of law
甯傚甯稿瀛︿範浼氫妇琛 闊╂寮鸿皟鎻愰珮鐢ㄦ硶娌绘濈淮澶勭悊闂鐨勮兘鍔
SHANGHAI Party Secretary Han Zheng led a study session of the standing committee members of the Chinese Communist Party Shanghai Committee on November 11 and Yuan Shuhong, deputy director of the Legal Affairs Office of the State Council, talked about the significance of the rule of law.
Han said Shanghai officials should gain full understanding of President Xi Jinping’s speech at the fourth plenum of the 18th CPC Central Committee and adopt the rule-of-law mentality in doing everything to ensure social justice, equality and social harmony.
He urged government officials to exercise self-discipline, guard against misuse of power and be a role model in observing and enforcing the law.
Yuan talked about the characteristics of China’s socialist legal system and the supreme authority of the Constitution. The Constitution is the fundamental law while the Party’s leadership is the fundamental guarantee of the rule of the law, he said.
All standing committee members talked about their views and personal experiences at the study session. Han said China has entered a critical stage of reform and development. The Party is facing an unprecedented challenge to carry the reform through while maintain the momentum of economic growth and social stability. Rule of law becomes ever more important for China to realize its dream of national rejuvenation.
He called on Party officials at all levels to strengthen disciplines, assume their responsibilities, provide good leadership for the society, and become pioneers in reform and opening and scientific development.
