Vice mayor meets Japanese, Algerian guests

SHANGHAI Executive Vice Mayor Tu Guangshao yesterday met a group of Japanese friends who received the Magnolia Awards in previous years for their outstanding contributions to Shanghai's development.
This group was led by Hideyuki Hoshiya, former director of Mitsui & Co Ltd Shanghai Representative Office.
Tu briefed the Japanese friends on Shanghai's social and economic development and encouraged them to give suggestions and advices regarding Shanghai's economic transformation, free trade zone development, and change into an international center of economy, finance, trade, shipping and innovation.
Also yesterday, the vice mayor received Algerian Foreign Affairs Ministry general-secretary Abdelhamid Senouci Bereksi and told him about Shanghai's urban and economic development.
