Yang Xiong meets Austrian delegation

SHANGHAI Mayor Yang Xiong met visiting Austria’s vice-chancellor and finance minister, Reinhold Mitterlehner, yesterday afternoon. He said Shanghai and Austria enjoy good cooperation in many areas, especially during World Expo 2010 Shanghai.
Yang said Shanghai is accelerating the development of China (Shanghai) Pilot Free Trade Zone as required by the central government. “We welcome Austrian businesses to have a share in the construction of the FTZ and Shanghai International Financial and Shipping Center,” he said.
Mitterlehner said Austria pays high attention to developing economic and trade ties with Shanghai and it hopes to expand cooperation in economy, trade, urban planning, environmental protection and scientific research.
Irene Giner-Reichl, Austrian ambassador to China, and Silvia Neureiter, Austrian consul general in Shanghai, attended the meeting.
