2 arrested over street shooting
CHANGCHUN police have arrested a man who allegedly shot a man letting off fireworks outside a beauty parlor on Sunday, as well as the man who allegedly hired him.
Wang Xinxue, 43, allegedly hired Wu Zhanmin, 51, to take revenge on his former wife, the beauty parlor owner, because he felt he had been left penniless by their divorce, according to a report in the Legal Daily yesterday.
Police arrested Wang in a hotel on Tuesday and Wu on Wednesday at another location in Changchun, the capital of Jilin Province.
Two beauty parlor workers were setting off firecrackers in front of the shop when Wu stepped out of a car and shot one of them in the leg at 7:58pm on Sunday.
It is not known why the injured man was chosen as a target by the gunman.
