Accused teen killer tells more
THE teenage woman who allegedly suffocated her parents and chopped up their bodies in southern China has told police that she had thought of killing them for several months.
18-year-old Qi told police in Zhongshan City, Guangdong Province, that she had been thinking of killing them since a family trip to Beijing this summer, according to City Express today.
She is accused of killing her migrant worker parents on September 11 by suffocating them with a plastic bag after a family quarrel. She told police that over the next two days she cut up their bodies and put the parts into 38 plastic bags.
And her last blog entry was chilling. On September 13 she wrote she felt "relieved" not to be playing online games over the previous two days. Police allege that's because she was busy chopping up her parents' bodies. They were both 49 when they died.
The girl, who had been adopted by the family when she was three days old, was also obsessed with sadism in her online profile, said the report. Qi was a keen follower of a Chinese Web celebrity famous for masochism who stabbed herself to death after taking a drug overdose.
Qi moved to Zhongshan with her migrant worker parents from Henan province when she was six, according to her uncle who rushed to the city after hearing of the murders.
He said his brother took the family to Guangdong to seek a better life for his daughter, although he admitted that the couple spent little time with her.
Qi's aunt, who breast-fed her when she was a baby, said the whole thing was unbelievable, as Qi was a shy girl.
After watching a video of Qi's police interrogation, the aunt told Guangzhou Daily that she thought she was "watching a devil."
"It was so brutal," she said. "My niece showed absolutely no emotion during the interrogation."
Psychiatrists are still evaluating Qi's mental state.
