Chinese premier meets Japanese foreign minister

CHINESE Premier Wen Jiabao met with visiting Japanese Foreign Minister Hirofumi Nakasone today.

Wen expressed appreciation for the efforts made by Hirofumi Nakasone to the development of China-Japan friendship.

Though over 90 years old, Yasuhiro Nakasone, former Japanese Prime Minister and Hirofumi Nakasone's father, still bears in mind advancing China-Japan relations of friendly cooperation, Wen said.

Wen extended wishes for Yasuhiro Nakasone's good health, and also asked Hirofumi Nakasone to convey his sincere greetings to the former Prime Minister. Hirofumi Nakasone conveyed the former Prime Minister's greetings to Wen and expectations for China-Japan friendship when they met last year in Fukuoka, Japan.

Hirofumi Nakasone thanked Wen for meeting him just prior to the convening of the annual sessions of the National People's Congress(NPC) and Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC).
