Cover-up in mine deaths
AT least eight people were killed in a coal mine accident that was covered up by the owners last month in north China's Shanxi Province, the local government said yesterday.
An investigation involving more than 100 police found that victims had been buried without the government being notified, according to Shuozhou city officials.
The deaths occurred when a Xinzhuang Coal Mining Company pit flooded on December 5. The company concealed the accident and moved bodies to other places.
