In Henan, teacher tears student's facial skin

A TEACHER in central China tore the facial skin of a 10-year-old student, a local newspaper reported today.
Primary school student Zheng Chaoqun is still in a hospital in Zhenping County of Henan Province for treatment, Dayang News reported today.
Teacher Guo Yabin tore the boy's face skin after she discovered the boy didn't finish his homework on December 18.
"She was very angry at that time," Zheng told the newspaper. "She ripped and twisted my cheeks with both her hands and then she lifted me up off the ground. I felt this piercing pain and fell to the ground. My facial skin was still in her hands and the right side of my face kept bleeding. She looked anxious, put my skin back and sent me home."
Zheng's father took him to a hospital immediately. The boy required 52 stitches to seal the wounds which included a 5cm by 6cm area and a 12cm gash.
The father reported the case to police and requested 800,000 yuan in compensation (US$117,000) from Guo, who is 37 years old and a mother of two.
One of Zheng's classmates told the newspaper that Guo often grabbed students by the face.
"When Zheng Caoqun was torn in the face, we were horrified and our monitor cried," the student was quoted as saying.
The parent of another student said Guo had done the same thing to every student in the class except the monitor, according to the report.
After the incident, Guo's relatives produced a hospital certificate stating she had a mental disorder.
The school master surnamed Cao denied Guo had a mental disorder and said the school was astonished by her behavior, according to the report.
Police are still investigating the case. No action has been taken against Guo by either the school or authorities.
