Victim stitches up crook in hospital
A SICHUAN man struck with a machete caught one of his assailants who was also injured in the attack later in hospital in southern China's Fujian Province, a local newspaper reported today.
The victim surnamed Liu was walking home after drinking wine with fellow villagers when a motorbike pulled up. The passenger got off and demanded money.
Liu refused and was about to restrain the man when the bike rider struck Liu on the arm with the machete, cutting him. He also cut his accomplice.
"I ran away shouting for help and they rode off on their motorbike," said Liu, who called two villagers to take him to hospital.
A doctor had just put Liu on an intravenous drip when his two assailants walked in the emergency ward. "It's them!" Liu said.
The motorbike rider who had wielded the machete noticed Liu and walked back out but the man who first demanded money kept going.
Liu's fellow villagers called the police and kept watch at the two exits until police came and arrested the injured robber.
The case is still being investigated.
