Astronauts test the spacecraft
TWO Chinese astronauts are testing the spacecraft's ability to withstand people's movements inside, which will be the main task of their second-day flight.
The test started at 4am Thursday. Astronauts will open and close the capsule door, put on and take off spacesuits and use different devices inside the spaceship to observe how these movements will affect the flying of Shenzhou VI.
Colonel Fei Junlong is working in the orbital capsule, with his partner, Colonel Nie Haisheng, staying in the re-entry capsule. They will sleep by turns.
They have shuttled between two capsules for the first time. In the country's first space program two years ago, Colonel Yang Liwei stayed only in the re-entry capsule during the 21-hour voyage.
China launched the Shenzhou VI spacecraft Wednesday morning as its second manned space mission.
