107-year-old looks for first-time husband
A 107-YEAR-OLD marriage-shy woman in southwestern China's Chongqing Municipality has decided to find her first husband.
A man of "a similar age is preferred", Chongqing Business News quoted her family as saying.
Wang Guiying was afraid to get married when she was young as she had witnessed one of her uncles beating his wife regularly.
Wang, born to a salt merchant's family in Guizhou Province, moved to Chongqing with her younger brother when she was 21, a year after her father died.
She lived with her mother when her brother got married five years later.
After her mother died Wang moved to a suburb in Chongqing. She worked as a farmer for the next 30 years and was well-known for her warm heart and kindness.
"If I could help someone, I'd try my best," she said.
She told the newspaper she was very happy to help others.
Wang changed all her savings to 1 yuan (14.5 US cents) banknotes and gave it to needy people.
Wang took care of herself till she was 102 but then relied on five of her nephews and nieces – the youngest was over 60 – when she broke her right leg in an accident.
Wang now wants to find a husband as she never got married. She also hopes she will not bother her nephews and nieces too much.
