College girl jailed for cheating cop in various roles

A female college student in Beijing was sentenced to five years in jail for cheating more than 300,000 yuan (US$47,238) out of a police officer by playing the roles of seven different persons, the Beijing Times reported today.

The Beijing No. 2 Intermediate Court said the convict surnamed Yang is a 21-year-old student of the Communication University of China in Beijing. She met a railway policeman surnamed Li on a social website in early June 2010 using a fake name "Zhang Ran" and lied that her father was the deputy director of the Hebei Province Public Security Bureau.

Li soon fell in love with "Zhang Ran" and promised to divorce his wife to become her boyfriend. They scheduled a date in mid-June. However, Yang went to their first meeting as "Yang Fei," the cousin of "Zhang Ran" and told Li that "Zhang" had an urgent business that day and asked him to send "Yang Fei" to a town in neighboring Hebei Province.

Li had no suspicion and drove Yang to the town.. They even had sex in a hotel on the way to the town, the court said.

The next day, Yang met Li on the Internet as "Zhang Ran" and rebuked him for having sex with her "cousin." Li didn't know they were the same person and apologized to "Zhang Ran." Later, he would date "Yang Fei" in real life and chat with "Zhang Ran" on the Internet.

Yang created various excuses to get money from Li and threatened that if he refused to meet her request, she would expose his sexual affairs with her "cousin," the court said.

Yang also communicated with Li in the capacity of other characters, including the uncle and aunt of "Yang Fei."

Li was driven crazy by the woman and was ready to sell his kidney to get money for Yang. Meantime, his wife divorced him. In the end, he reported everything to the police in August 2010.
