Crocodile found in Beijing residential complex
A Siamese crocodile, an endangered species on the protection list, was spotted in a pond inside a residential complex in Chaoyang District, Beijing, a local paper reported today.
The young reptile, 40cm long and 2.4kg in weight, is prone to attack, said a worker with the Beijing Aquatic Animal Sanctuary. It can pose safety threats to children playing in the vicinity, he said.
It was obviously put in the pond by a pet owner and experts advise wildlife lovers to get professional help if they have problems with their crocodiles and want to abandon them.
