Husband reports abducted wife a year later
A Baoshan District man has been charged for abducting another man's wife and selling her to his brother-in-law for for 300 yuan (US$44), the Shanghai Morning Post reported today.
The husband originally thought his wife had run away and only reported her disappearance a year later when he thought something may be wrong. Police took four years to find the woman surnamed Bian.
The abductor, surnamed Shi, visited his neighbor in Yuepu Town in May 2003 and found Bian home alone. He convinced her to visit his hometown where he sold her to his brother in law, Baoshan District prosecutors said.
