Museum shows Chinese incarnation of Angry Bird
Fans of a popular game "Angry Bird" are surprised to find an ancient Chinese wine vessel at the Shanxi Provincial Museum bearing a great resemblance to their bird fighter.
The owl-shaped bronze vessel called "Xiao You" in Chinese was made in the Shang Dynasty (1766 to 1122 BC) and is now on display in the museum in Taiyuan, the provincial capial, reported Chutian Metropolitan Daily today.
A snapshot of the vessel was posted by a Beijing microblogger on Weibo.com this week and it has been forwarded thousands of times with elated comments.
Many people said it was so cute with its bulgy eyes and horny beak.
Bronze wine vessels in different forms prevailed during the Xia, Shang and Zhou dynasties 3,000 years ago. They were symbols of social status and authority in those days.
