Noah's Ark in the form of a steel ball

A Chinese man spent 1.5 million yuan (US$236,100) to build his version of Noah's Ark, a ball-like capsule that can protect people from all kinds of calamities.
An entrepreneur in Yiwu, Zhejiang Province, Yang Zongfu said he began to invent this shelter after he read that a spate of disasters would hit China after 2008.
His capsule, 4 meters in diameter with a thick steel shell and shock-proof with 300 springs and 75 airbags, can keep people safe in fire, earthquake and flood.
Yang said a family of three can live inside the capsule for two weeks with stored food and water, and can float on water in the event of a flood, today's Modern Express reported.
Yang made an experiment on Monday and had people push the ball down a 50-meter-long slope as he sat inside. He emerged unscathed except with a tiny cut in his chin because he didn't wear the helmet properly.
His invention has been tested by engineering experts and he has won a contract for 15 Noah's Ark capsules from a businessman in Shanxi Province, the paper said.
