A young man in southwestern China has devoted himself to cooking but his girlfriend discovered yesterday it was only a trick to hold her heart.
Zhao Xiaodong, from Chongqing Municipality, said he felt insecure about his beautiful girlfriend even though they had been together for more than five years since college.
Zhao decided to make her fat with delicious food as he thought other men would have less interest in a chubby girl, according to Chongqing Evening News today.
He bought dozens of recipes at the start and now he can cook spaghetti and French-style steak for his girlfriend.
His plan nearly worked as his sweetheart Zhou Qing put on 4 kilograms in half a year. Yet Zhou was annoyed when the truth came out that Zhao just feared her being unfaithful.
"He stopped me from working out to lose weight," said Zhou, "and I was suspicious until he told me the truth."
Yet the little trouble was soon ironed out after Zhou made Zhao believe that their love was hard as rock and should be built on the rock of trust.
She forgave Zhao with one condition: that Zhao has to cook at least three meals a day for the rest of their lives.
