Prepaid phone card balance shots up to 680,000 yuan by input mistake
A woman in South China accidentally put 680,000 yuan (US$107,100) in her prepaid phone card. The number was her account password, today's Nanguo Morning Post reported.
Xiao Yue, a resident in Nanning, capital of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, intended to recharge 100 yuan into her phone card on June 27 but she entered her six-figure account number instead of 100 and her cell phone account balance is now 680,000 yuan.
She did not find out until the bank called her the next day.
The telecom company said she needs to close her account to get the refund. She did as instructed but has not received the money yet.
The telecom company's customer service center said they would try to solve the problem as soon as possible.
