Talking parrot evokes wrath of death

A pet parrot than could mimic human speech was trampled to death because a drunken man was irritated by the bird's repeating of his dirty words.
Zhang Hua, a Nanjing resident, had dinner with some friends early this month in a restaurant famous for its dishes as well as its smart bird.
As alcohol took its effect on him, Zhang started to talk to the parrot but soon felt insulted because the bird imitated his stammer perfectly. He cursed the bird with obscenities and the bird talked back.
Feeling humiliated, the drunken man threw the bird to the ground and stomped on it, Nanjing Morning Post reported today.
After he grew sober, Zhang paid the restaurant more than 10,000 yuan (US$1,584) in compensation.
