Anderson out of 2nd test
James Anderson will definitely miss the second Ashes test and England says it is not certain when the 37-year-old seamer will be fit to return from an injured right calf. England’s record wicket-taker broke down after bowling just four overs in the series opener at Edgbaston and did not bowl again as Australia thrashed England by 251 runs. Anderson did bat in both innings in his No. 11 slot. Scans confirmed Anderson has no chance of taking part in the second of five tests, starting on August 14 at Lord’s, with assessment taking place “on an ongoing basis” regarding his comeback.
