D’Arcy Short has been called into Australia’s squad for next month’s three-match one-day series in India as a replacement for injured seamer Sean Abbott. Abbott will be sidelined for up to four weeks after suffering a side strain during this season’s Twenty20 Big Bash League. Short offers a wrist spin option which will supplement the Australian attack which already includes pacemen Pat Cummins, Josh Hazlewood, and Mitchell Starc. The series comprises matches in Mumbai on January 14, Rajkot on January 17 and Bengaluru on January 19.
