A digital tour that could excite the young

A new exhibition, “Discovering the Hall of Mental Cultivation: A Digital Experience,” opened to the public on Wednesday.
The exhibition marks the 92nd anniversary of the establishment of the Palace Museum. Opening at the Digital Gallery at Duanmen (Southern End Main entrance), the exhibition is a perfect combination of traditional Chinese culture and modern technologies.
With the help of artificial intelligence, visual reality, image and speech recognition, visitors are able to interact with 3D at the Hall of Mental Cultivation. They can have “conversations” with ministers, enjoy an omnibearing view of valuable artifacts and even take a walk at the emperor’s suite.
Openness, diversity, experiencing and interactivity are highlighted in this exhibition. Unlike the traditional exhibition, visitors can get involved with their smartphones.
For many young visitors, the exhibition helps them to comprehend traditional Chinese culture and history in a fun and fashionable way.
The exhibition runs until November 30.
