Dragon Boat Festival at Yuyuan

FROM May 27th to June 10th , a cultural festival at Yuyuan Garden will be held to celebrate the Dragon Boat Festival. A stage will be set up with statues featuring Qu Yuan, an ancient Chinese poet, talking to fishermen. With a bamboo forest and flowing stream around them, the stage will take visitors back to the Chu Kingdom, where Qu lived and died more than 2,000 years ago.

Other festival customs will be on display. For visitors who are not familiar with how to make zongzi (sticky rice dumplings wrapped in bamboo or reed leaves), special lessons will be available.
