Fighting phishing
FACEBOOK has created an e-mail address for people to report scams.
The address is phish@fb.com. Anyone, even those not on Facebook, can report malicious e-mails pretend to come from Facebook.
Known as phishing, such e-mails attempt to get passwords and other information by pretending to be from a legitimate business. Many people use the same passwords at banks and other sites, so someone getting Facebook account information can often log on elsewhere.
Facebook will report scams to security companies and notify blacklists kept by Internet companies to block malicious websites. It will prevent users from posting links on Facebook.
