Galleries team up for Chen Yujun鈥檚 project
A collaborative project by Arario and BANK galleries will be open to the public next Saturday. The upcoming solo exhibition will present Chen Yujun’s project “The River Never Remembers, The House Cannot Forget” at both the venues.
The two-part exhibition will showcase Chen’s innovative artworks from the past few years. Some of Chen’s works, which are collected in two international private museums — the Arario Museum in South Korea and the White Rabbit Gallery in Australia — will be displayed in China for the first time. Both the sections are inspired by Fujian Province, where the artist hails from.
“The River Never Remembers” at Arario Gallery includes a series of multimedia works on paper and installations from Chen’s Mulan River project. The river is regarded as a symbol of native roots and memories for the locals.
BANK Gallery will display the other part “The House Cannot Forget,” which also includes installations and videos. The works are from the artist’s Temporary Constructions series.
