King of Asian pop to give a royal performance

DUBBED the “new king of Asian pop” by “Time” magazine, Jay Chou, the legendary Chinese singer, songwriter, producer, actor and director, is bringing his marvelous repertoire to Shanghai as part of his world tour.

Chou has gained wide-spread recognition throughout Asia since his debut album “Jay.” Another 13 solo albums have followed, including “Fantasy,” “The Eight Dimensions,” “Yeh Hui-mei,” “Common Jasmin Orange” and “November’s Chopin.” His albums have sold more than 30 million copies, while his music has been downloaded more times than superstars Rihanna, Eminem and Madonna.

Creative and insightful, Chou will perform his unique style of cross-cultural music, which has been labeled “Chou Style.” Combining traditional Chinese instruments and style with R&B or rock elements, Chou created a new genre called “Chinese style music” and composed numerous masterpieces such as “Far Away,” “Chrysanthemum Terrace,” “Nunchucks” and “Hair Like Snow.”

Enjoying domestic popularity, Chou is also no stranger to Western audiences and has performed in Hollywood movies “The Green Hornet,” “Kung Fu Panda 3” and “Now You See Me 2.”

Entitled “The Invincible 2 Concert Tour,” he has been to Singapore, Malaysia, Australia and several cities in China. In mid-June, Chou will bring his nostalgic and old-school tracks to his fans in Shanghai.
