The events will be held in more than 200 Chinese cities including Beijing, Guangzhou, Chengdu, Shanghai, Shenyang and Wuhan and cover music, art, cinema, sport, literature, gastronomy and performing arts.

This year’s Ambassador of the Francophonie Festival is singer and French-speaker, Laure Shang.

A francophone karaoke will be launched in more than 3,500 KTVs all around China. A WeChat game inspired by the Pivot Dictation, centered around francophone expressions and French spelling, started on February 23 and allows beginners and accomplished French learners to polish their French and win numerous prizes including a trip to France and Switzerland for two people.

To celebrate the festival, singer Izïa Higelin, -M- and DJ Etienne de Crécy will have their performance live on March 25 in Shanghai. A retrospective of the Swiss sculptor Alberto Giacometti will take place at the Yuz Museum on March 26.
