THE completely metal case coated in white gold stimulates interest before it is even opened. Is it a powder case, a coin purse or a jewel? But when the intriguing object finally reveals itself with a subtle click, a secret mirror springs forth as if by magic and you discover the surprise nestling inside ?an exceptional lipstick.
Rouge G de Guerlain has taken the humble lipstick into a new era with this revolutionary new product due out worldwide on April 1.
It was developed from Guerlain's Creative Director Olivier Echaudemaison's desire to capture the quintessence of luxury in an object dedicated to the lips.
"I longed for a new, mysterious beauty gesture that united the qualities of a powder case, a jewel and the most precious lipstick,?Echaudemaison revealed at the launch party held in Shanghai's Lan Club. "That is why we called on the talented jeweler Lorenz Baumer,?he said.
The product formula contains high-tech and more traditional elements, with an ultimate jewelery ingredient at the heart of its formula ?ruby powder, which is enriched with glass microbeads that diffract light to infinity.
Rouge G de Guerlain will retail for 430 yuan on Chinese mainland.
