Murray band aids vet charity
BUCKINGHAM Palace says a wristband worn by tennis star Andy Murray during Wimbledon and given to the Duchess of Cornwall has fetched more than 2,000 pounds (US$3,100) for an animal charity. Camilla, the wife of Prince Charles, grimaced as the chairman of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club handed her the sweaty wristband tossed out by the tennis star. The British royal put her memento, signed by Murray, on eBay, where it attracted 45 bids and sold for 2,100 pounds on Monday. The money will go to the Animal Care Trust, the Royal Veterinary College’s charity, where Camilla has been a patron for 10 years.
