? McCartney's ex-wife sued
Paul McCartney's ex-wife Heather Mills has been sued by a Los Angeles hairdresser who claims the former reality TV show contestant failed to pay as much as US$80,000 as she pursued stardom in Hollywood. David Miramontes, who works under the name David Paul, claims in the lawsuit filed in Los Angeles Superior Court that he worked for Mills starting in 2005 and quit in 2008 after she repeatedly failed to pay him.
? Barnes wins Man Booker Prize
English author and bookmakers' favorite Julian Barnes finally won the Man Booker Prize for fiction on Tuesday, despite once dismissing the coveted award as "posh bingo." The 65-year-old triumphed with "The Sense of an Ending," which at 150 pages was described as a "novella."
? Restraining order obtained
Selena Gomez has obtained a temporary restraining order against a 46-year-old man who her attorney claims has a history of mental illness and spoke about thoughts of killing the entertainer. A Los Angeles Superior Court judge has approved the order requiring Thomas Brodnicki to stay at least 100 yards away from the 19-year-old singer and actress, who also is the girlfriend of teenage pop star Justin Bieber.
? Rapper Soulja Boy arrested
Rapper Soulja Boy was arrested on drug and weapons charges on Tuesday after a traffic stop in Georgia, police said. The 21-year-old entertainer, whose given name is DeAndre Cortez Way, and four crew members were pulled over in Temple, Georgia.

After decades at the center of the media world, including jobs as Newsweek's editor-in-chief and his current position as CNN's managing editor, Mark Whitaker has finally decided it was time to write about his life. The result, "My Long Trip Home: A Family Memoir," details Whitaker's complex family history and upbringing, focusing on the ups and downs of his relationship with his bright but self-destructive father.
? Stone Roses reunite for tour
Manchester rockers The Stone Roses, who rose to fame in the late 1980s before fading almost as fast less than a decade later, have reunited for a world tour kicking off in their hometown next June. The quartet's eponymous debut album, released in 1989, is considered one of the greatest records to come out of British rock.
? Midler mermaid costume
Bette Midler's famous mermaid stage costume, the Valentino gown she wore to the 1992 Oscars, and a collection of headdresses are all going up for auction in November, Julien's Auctions said. The singer and actress also is selling several stage costumes.
