White makes a big showing for spring

FASHION serves many purposes, one being a non-narcotic mood-elevator. White fashion was big on the runways for the coming spring, especially white on white and all the many shades of white, from ivory to chalk. Pale sea-green, blue and mother-of-pearl were also shown, as well as ocean-theme prints. Ladies in whiteThe one trend taking over 2012 spring fashion is none other than white on white.
It may not be the most surprising color choice for spring, but what's impressive is how designers manipulated white into so many exceptional sculptural silhouettes: bouffant skirts, peplums, cage-like cutouts and exaggerated shoulders, for starters. Designers like Vera Wang, Rachel Roy and DKNY are all using light-weight to sheer fabrics so you'll look almost angelic.
Rei Kawakubo for Comme des Garcons also decided to go with pure white. Kawakubo riffed on formal white dresses in ivory satin and embroidered white lace that are inextricably associated with brides and other virginal religious ceremonies.
Lagerfeld showed swimwear the Chanel way, all white and sometimes under the cover of plastic.
But be careful when you chose white all over and make sure you do not like a marshmallow. Try delicate lace or pleats for a more feminine look or go for a straighter or more elegant silhouette.Make room
