Comforts of all kinds
THE walk along Changle Road from Shaanxi Road S. westward to Fumin Road can take almost an hour at a leisurely pace - or even longer if you do some shopping and eating on the way. Unlike the section between Chongqing Road and Shaanxi Road S. featured last week, you will get a different taste with a more residential feel on this part of the road. There's a smattering of small shops selling clothes, toys and lifestyle products, but it isn't short of popular restaurants either, and a couple of them might just be ideal destinations for tomorrow's US Independence Day celebrations.
Bistro Burger
This burger joint concentrates on providing American-style burgers while maintaining a "gourmet burger" standard that will put their fast-food counterparts to shame. With wifi also available and a range of popular milkshakes, this is an ideal place to relax or use as a casual alternative to the office. Being a family-friendly restaurant there is a children's menu offering items such as the Mini Burger (30 yuan/US$4.6) and Hot Dogs (28 yuan). Their 2-for-1 house cocktails (only after 7pm) and large variety of finger foods such as the buffalo wings (55 yuan) are great for starting a night out with friends. If you're not in the mood for a burger, their sandwiches and wraps are equally tempting. Try their classics such as the Tuscan Burger (65 yuan) and The Original Bistro Burger (68 yuan) and give your verdict on how the fare at this establishment compares to the usual fast-food suspects.
