Last word in luxury in book by AB Concept design duo
"THE Language of Luxe" is the limited-edition collection of interior projects by architectural and design firm AB Concept's cofounders Ed Ng and Terence Ngan.
In the 300-page hard-cover book, published by ORO Editions, the design duo reveal 12 years of inspirations, detail their creative process, and explain their artistic vision. Each chapter focuses on a design element that communicates authentic luxury through color, craftsmanship, texture, form, scale, pattern, light, simplicity and sense of place.
"Luxury means comfort. We ensure each project tells a new story and evokes a sense of bespoke beauty and individuality. Architectural, couturier-like, and sense become the core of our design approach,'' Ng said.
AB Concept confirms its leading position with a client list that includes Four Seasons, Mandarin Oriental, Shangri-La, W, Hyatt, Waldorf Astoria, Swire Properties and Henderson Land.
Their latest projects include Shang-Xi, the Chinese restaurant in the newly opened Four Seasons Hotel Pudong. The design is inspired by Shanghai's rich history and combines architectural forms of neo-classical buildings with traditional Chinese motifs. Shanghai-style flamboyance is tempered with a sense of refinement.
The book goes on sale next spring in selected shops such as Page One and Eslite in Hong Kong.
