Boots made forwalking

NO matter how popular those glamorous, sexy thigh-high boots are this season, warm, comfortable winter boots like those lined with sheepskin and classic, unisex models from brands such as Timberland and Dr. Martens, are still many people's first choice in the chilly weather.

UGG australia boots are best known for its celebrity following including Sarah Jessica Parker, Jennifer Aniston and Liv Tyler. Meanwhile, Jessica Alba was recently spotted wearing a pair of luxurious, fur-lined Australia Luxe Collective boots. We have picked up some trendy winter boots from the local market - let's walk comfortably in the cold season like a star.

UGG australia

We all know (and appreciate) UGG boots. They have become a must-have winter item for many from celebrities to toddlers, thanks to classic designs, as well as comfort and warmth. Every season the brand introduces new colors and styles but the Classic Tall and Classic Short models remain the most popular. This season the new tones include purple, midnight blue and metallic hues.

Australia Luxe Collective

Exhibiting a knack for knowing what women desire - to be beautiful and comfortable - Australia Luxe Collective has taken the common Aussie "ugly" boot to a new level of style. Co-founder and creative director Nicole Durand fills every collection with embellishments, fur trims and other special treatments that make the boots stand out. We love the boots with cool studs as well as those made from shinning patent leather. They are now available in Shanghai O'blu boutiques in Plaza 66 and Xintiandi.

Dr. Martens and www.izzue.com

Hong Kong-based fashion brand "http://www.izzue.com" has teamed up with Dr. Martens to launch limited edition boots based on the legendary British boot maker's classic 1460 model. The boots feature a wingtip motif, eye-catching green lace hoops and a subtle pressed logo along the side.

Crocs

Dressed up and ready to hit the road, the cute Crocs Haley boot is designed with a chic faux-fur and synthetic suede upper that adds style and warmth. It is also waterproof, and has various combinations, including the all-black version with a baby blue lace and the bright yellow and grey version with a grey lace.

Timberland

A big-selling boots brand, Timberland provides impressive work boots that boast design and durability. The American brand's most renowned waterproof Yellow Boots, known as the spirit of the brand, were born in 1973 and have since become a classic which is loved by both men and women.

The number is expected to reach 30 by the end of next year, according to Masaaki Kanai, managing director of the "no-brand" home, fashion and office equipment retailer.

It also plans to further expand to overseas markets by launching new stores in countries such as Turkey, Singapore and Indonesia.

A mixture of sporty and glamorous, the collection of exquisite cocktail dresses feature the classic palette of black and red, and are made of fabrics such as fine silk and satin.

Trendy colors for the home

Nippon Paint has recently released the brand's newest color trend in line with the concept of how the environment affects our daily lives.

With the ideas of environmental protection and de-stressing so important these days, Nippon Paint has created a color palette in line with the four color trends of the season, with categories that make it simpler for customers.

"The trends of 2010 are a mixture of environmental protection, pressure release and a combination of West and East. We launched four main color trends to reflect this - pure and fresh, neutral and natural, classic vivid, and joyful shinning," said Ariel Wu, the brand's senior official.

Pure and fresh colors include beige, almond and young yellow and help people relax. Brown, pale green and gray represent neutral natural colors that lead people to pay more attention to environmental protection. Light green, light blue and wine red are classics. Pink, light purple and bright orange show the prospect of a brighter future.
