Elegance transcends time of crisis
IN a period of change and uncertainty when there is a tendency to avoid hedonism for its own sake, elegance makes a comeback in the fashion world.
Canali, Italy's leading men's luxury fashion house, held a fashion show to present its spring/summer 2010 collection at the Shanghai World Financial Center as part of its global 75th anniversary celebration.
A world leader in men's fashion, Canali has become synonymous with elegance, fine tailoring and "made in Italy" quality.
For suits and jackets, the spring/summer 2010 collection introduces a "softer construction" with rounded shoulders, fitted waists, shorter silhouettes and the important novelty of double-breasted styling.
The double-breasted blazers come in a variety of colors including water, green, sand and lilac, made of fine blends of wool-silk and linen and enriched with champagne color, brushed metal or mother of pearl buttons.
Meanwhile, Italian men's fashion brand David Mayer Naman recently launched its first boutique in the city in Citic Square.
Targeting cosmopolitan "metrosexuals" aged 25 to 45, David Mayer Naman creates clothes uniting international style with Italian taste for those who want a total look.
Sensual and sometimes a bit dashing, the clothes blend different combinations of forms and colors. Black and purple are the key tones, while slim cut trousers and butter soft leather jackets are the must-have pieces.
