PIAGET, the famed Swiss luxury watchmaker and jeweler, welcomed its biggest occasion of the year in Shanghai on Thursday - the 30th anniversary of the Yves Piaget Rose. In 1982, at the Geneva International Competition of New Roses, the winning rose was christened the "Yves Piaget Rose'' as a tribute to Piaget's devotion to rose cultivation. It became the inspiration of Piaget jewelry. Piaget's fourth generation scion Yves Piaget, Chinese actress Joan Chen, musician Li Quan and Taiwan anchor-woman Patty Hou all attended the glamorous Piaget limelight garden party. Piaget rose jewels were also displayed during the event, while the song "La Vie en Rose" played throughout the evening. To celebrate the 30th birthday of the legendary rose, Piaget workshops treated the rose collections to an efflorescence of new models. The rose element has been applied not only to the high jewelry line, but also to many other collections in the house.
