GERMANY'S leading manufacturer of ophthalmic lenses and spectacles frames surprised The 13th China (Shanghai) International Optics Fair last week with its latest Diamond R Series lens, complete with a record-breaking retail price of 188,000 yuan (US$30,203). The brand says its System of Better Vision makes a perfect match between its supreme frames and high-tech lenses. Celebrated Hong Kong actor Simon Yam, attended the grand launch event in Shanghai and received the first pair of Diamond R Series spectacles.
