Baby born on subway
A WOMAN in Philadelphia, United States, got an unexpected holiday surprise on the subway when she went into labor, delivering a child dubbed the “Christmas baby.”
Two police officers were called when the woman’s waters broke on the train on Thursday and she went into labor.
The two helped the woman deliver her child, and one was later photographed leaving the train with the infant.
Sergeant Daniel Caban said he was hoping for a quiet day on the job, but the delivery was a pleasant surprise.
“I was just praying for the medics to come in and take over,” he said.
“This was just a blessing, during the holidays, a Christmas baby.”
The mother and child were taken to hospital and are doing well.
