Canada - Hero steals back bike
A Vancouver woman became famous last week for stealing back her bicycle from a thief after seeing it advertised online.
Kayla Smith, 33, told the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation that her US$950 bicycle was taken from a rack in the oceanfront Olympic Village.
She filed a police report and the next day she spotted an advertised bike that looked suspiciously like hers. She contacted the seller, posed as a buyer and arranged to meet in a parking lot.
She immediately recognized her bike, asked to ride it in the lot and immediately took off.
Police cautioned against confronting thieves, but she was a hero.
