Canada-China film festival

THE second Canada China International Film Festival (CCIFF) will be held from September 23 to 27 in Montreal.

The festival, hosted by non-profit organization Canada China Art-Tech will host film screenings, Canada China Academy Film Award, Canada China co-production project pitch, entertainment technology summit and exhibition as well as women’s voice in film and television forum.

This year’s CCIFF will also present a series of events to celebrate Canada’s 150th anniversary and Montreal’s 375th anniversary.

“Film is the most expressive representation of a country’s culture, etiquette and custom. The Canada-China relationship helps each other and make progress together to initiate a new film’s age. Although CCIFF is a young festival, its future will be splendid,” said Li Qiankuan, Chinese director and honorary president of the Canada China International Film Festival at the pre-launch event hosted during 20th Shanghai International Film Festival.

In 2018, the film festival will be centered on Canada-China Tourism Year. In 2019 and 2020, The festival plans to focus on The People’s Republic of China’s 70th anniversary and the 50th anniversary of Canada-China Relationship respectively.
