China - Zhang awarded
FAMOUS Chinese actress Zhang Ziyi was awarded the Ordre des Arts et des Lettres at the French Embassy in Beijing on Thursday, for her significant achievements in film and arts.
French Minister of Culture and Communication Aurelie Filippetti conferred the award and Zhang made a speech in which she said that she is grateful to all the people who have helped her.
Born in 1979, Zhang is a well-known Chinese actress who has also achieved international fame. Her first major role was in "The Road Home." Her leading roles in "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon," "Rush Hour 2," "House of Flying Daggers" and "Memoirs of a Geisha" won her worldwide recognition.
