Michael Kors’ 3D show not just for the jet set

SPORTY, sexy and glamorous. Michael Kors’ “Jet Set Experience,” a high-tech, thrilling runaway show held in Shanghai on Friday night was just what the American designer promised.

Staged in a hangar at Hongqiao Airport, Kors used a 3D holographic projection system to transform the runway into three jet-set locations — a beach resort, a chic mountain getaway and a bustling metropolis.

One of the highlights of the night was when American supermodel Miranda Kerr strutted down the runway in a red-hot strapless evening gown.

“In today’s world, women want it all,” Kors said.

“Why shouldn’t you be able to feel glamorous, sexy and feminine, but at the same time, have clothes that you can move in, work in and travel in?”

The ex-Project Runway judge arrived in Shanghai dressed in regulation  black T-shirt, black trousers and jacket.

“The idea is that everyone moves fast now, even if it’s just on their phones. And they can have it all — glamour, sex appeal and comfort,” he said.

The show was staged to promote Kors’ store at the Jing’an Kerry Center.

Michael Kors’ jet-set must-haves

Aviator sunglasses. It makes every man Steve McQueen, and every woman Angelina Jolie.

A beautiful black jacket for me is something I can wear with white jeans in Kapuwa, black in New York, and it goes to every season.

A fabulous glamorous watch. Some real, some not real, in case you lose one. It makes even a T-shirt feel fabulous. It makes the statement.
