THE opening of the “Treasures of Chopin’s Land” exhibition took place yesterday in the National Museum of China in Beijing. For the Chinese audience, this will be the first opportunity to see such a thorough presentation of Polish art and history.
The exhibition consists of nearly 350 items, among them colorful and splendid clothing and fabrics from the 16th and 17th centuries, armor of the famed Polish hussars, paintings by Jan Matejko, Wojciech Fangor and Jerzy Nowosielski, and objects related to Fryderyk Chopin. The exhibition runs through May 10.
