Starwood Hotels & Resorts has introduced a free Chinese language app for Android phone users to help them search and make reservations at 1,100 Starwood hotels in 100 countries directly on handsets. It features membership balance, upcoming and past stays and integrated location-based features — such as connecting users to the closest customer care center.
The app marks Starwood’s ambition to penetrate the mobile travelling market, which has grown rapidly in China to become a multi-billion yuan industry.
In China, more than 69 percent of smartphone users have Android phones.
