THE deputy editor at The Sun tabloid in Britain has been charged with authorizing illegal payoffs to government officials, prosecutors said Wednesday.
The charges against Geoff Webster are the latest in a series of criminal charges against employees of Rupert Murdoch's News Corp. Scores of journalists - most British employees - have been involved in scandals that include phonehacking.
