English book features expats鈥 daily-life stories
A Home in Suzhou — Expat Tales of Life in the City,” a book in English about 30 expatriates living in Suzhou, was launched yesterday in Tongli ancient water town in Jiangsu Province.
Jointly published by the Information Office of the Suzhou Government and Shanghai Daily, the stories cover expats of various nationalities, ages and professions.
The stories first appeared in a biweekly column in Shanghai Daily. Ten reporters started working on the series in 2011.
Minister Cai Lixin and Deputy Minister Wang Yanhong of the Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China Suzhou Committee attended the launch ceremony.
Meanwhile, officials also opened the Suzhou International Culture Post, a cultural exchange platform, in Tongli. It is housed in the physical store Allure of Suzhou.
