Kerry Parkside brings it all together for everyone

KERRY Parkside has become a popular weekend getaway for local and expat families in the Pudong New Area.

On the weekend before Halloween, the festive spirit was running high in Kerry Parkside. Children and their parents, both expats and locals, learned to dance horse steps to the world's hottest hit song, "Gangnam Style" from South Korea. Children dressed up as Spider Man, Super Man, Snow White and other characters to play trick-or-treat, a traditional activities for Western Halloween.

Opened in October last year, Kerry Parkside is across from Century Park, near Lianyang, Green City, Zhangjiang and Huamu international residential communities.

Kerry Parkside usually hosts China traditional culture events to tie in with festivals.

For this year's Dragon Boat Festival in June, expat children and parents gathered to make zongzi - a traditional Chinese food made of glutinous rice and wrapped with bamboo leaves - tied scented sachets and hung decorative bracelets made from five-colored thread.

In August, Kerry Parkside held a "Little Miss Universe" event, in which 52 "little princesses" from China and overseas showed their art talent and shared their stories on the stage. Eleven-year-old Madison Norwood from the United States won the championship by singing a well-known song "Mercy."

The same month, jazz lovers flocked to Kerry for the music event, a prelude to October's JZ Music Festival Shanghai. Fans, amateurs and musicians took to the stage alongside popular jazz bands from Shanghai.

These events promote the exchange and integration of international arts and culture in Shanghai's international community.

As a successful example of HOPSCA (the acronym for hotel, office, park, shopping, conventions and apartments), Kerry Parkside integrates all these elements. It contains a retail mall offering more than 100 shops, grade-A office facilities, a lifestyle business hotel and serviced residences. All fittingly brought together to make for a complete international hub.

The retail mall offers a large-scale premium supermarket, a myriad of casual and fine dining choices, top international fashion brands, beauty services, toys, children's wear and many more. From the minute you step in, you will immediately understand Kerry Parkside's mission, as its long-time slogan suggests: Feel Free and Experience the Flow at Kerry Parkside.

Household names such as Ole' Supermarket, Blue Frog, Element Fresh and many more have made Kerry Parkside their home.

Residences at Kerry Parkside offer all the comforts of home in each of the 182 fully furnished premium serviced apartments. Spaces range from spacious, efficient one-bedroom units to four-bedroom penthouses. All facilities and services are managed by Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts. Many units feature spectacular views of Century Park.

Kerry Hotel Pudong, Shanghai's 574 guestrooms and suites, most with expansive Century Park views, are designed for optimum ease in work, rest and leisure. The complex contains the city's largest sports club with a wellness day spa and indoor children's playground, as well as Shanghai's largest portfolio of banqueting and conference venues, including the city's largest pillar-free ballroom.
