Multinationals praised for efforts in innovation

RECENTLY, Shanghai Daily and Eeastday.com jointly organized the “Innovation and Development: Multinational Companies in Shanghai” campaign, which is designed to select the best practice cases of multinational companies in Shanghai in order to facilitate the city’s drive to develop a technology and innovation center with global influence.
Through online voting and review of a judge panel, 40 Best Innovative Practice cases were chosen among 81 participating cases from multinational companies that have strong innovative presence
in Shanghai. Over 5.7 million votes were cast through the online and mobile platforms of the organizers between August 17 and September 16. The campaign is supported by the Information Office of Shanghai Municipality
The winning cases cover four areas, including policy, local cooperation, talent and community. Multinational companies have responded actively in the competition, part of the national campaign to encourage mass entrepreneurship and innovation, and Shanghai’s initiative to become a global technology and innovation center. The cases are expected to set models for future policy planning, for promotion of cooperation, for talent development and for corporate social responsibility.
Government officials, experts and executives of multinational companies attended an awards ceremony and a forum on innovation on October 22 at KIC in Yangpu District.
