Old Navy and New Look open stores in Shanghai

The US apparel brand Old Navy opened its first China store on Saturday on the corner of Nanjing Road W. and Huashan Road. A dedicated e-commerce site (www.oldnavy.cn) is also now available on the Chinese mainland.

“We are so proud to be able to bring Old Navy’s American fashion essentials to China,” said Jeff Kirwan, Gap Inc’s president of China.

“Old Navy is a unique combination of current fashion, offered at great prices in an energizing environment that makes shopping fun for the whole family.” With the debut of Old Navy’s first company-operated store in Shanghai and plans to open five more in fiscal 2014, parent company Gap Inc marks a new stage in its growth plans for the world’s second largest apparel market.

Meanwhile, British-based fast fashion brand New Look opened its first store in Shanghai last week at Cloud 9 near Zhongshan Park.
