Where to play real and fantasy Olympic games

WATCHING TV at home or in pubs and following the competitions on the Internet are not the only ways to celebrate the London Olympic Games. You can also try out sports such as basketball and ping-pong with family and friends and practice the spirit of Olympics.

In the hot sunny summer, some shopping centers in Shanghai are offering sports activities to the public both indoors and outdoors, ranging from ping-pong to X-Box matches. Having a mini Olympics just in the neighborhood is a perfect way to enjoy the games in fashion.

Since the London Olympic Games will end on Monday, Beijing time, just go to enjoy a fun game this weekend, whether it's a tennis match on Wii or a real basketball match, everyone is welcome.

Life Hub @ Jinqiao

Through Sunday, the Jinqiao shopping center offers a variety of sports related to the Olympics. There are three main categories: track and field, basketball and ping-pong, and X-Box simulation.

For those who love running and wish to have a race with Olympic champions like Jesse Owens, Carl Lewis or Usain Bolt, the outdoor track with a 21-meter-long LED screen is hard to miss. When the starting gun fires, you and the champions can run at the same time, and the final result will be recorded on the same ranking list. It's an exciting challenge.

Ever since ping-pong (table tennis) was introduced into the Olympic Games, China has won many gold medals and the sport also encouraged several generations of Chinese sports people. During the Olympic Games, you can come to Jinqiao to enjoy a match.

If you are a fan of video games, the X-Box Olympic simulation is fun. From archery to equestrian sports, or tennis and beach volleyball, the Olympic experience is brought right in front of you.

Life Hub @ Anting

The shopping center presents the Olympic experience combining sports with modern technology. It combines the willingness to play sports as well as fantasies about future Olympics.

At Anting life hub, visitors can try a balance beam that hasn't been seen before: when you step on it, the colorful lighting will spray sprinkles around you; walk and swing following the light, and you'll surprisingly find yourself walking into a time tunnel, which minimizes the fear of walking onto the beam.

Anting life hub also introduces X-Box games, which bring four track and field sports: discus throw, javelin throw, long jump and hurdling. There is also mini basketball for young children.

Besides the games, visitors will see an Olympics bus from London with colorful decorations. During weekdays from 10am-10pm, the bus is on exhibition for photo taking, and on weekends from 6pm-8pm, you can get on the bus to take photos, when presenting a receipt for spending more than 100 yuan (US$15.7) at the Anting shopping center.

Mini basketball, X-Box and the interactive balance beam is open from 4pm-8pm on weekdays and from 1pm-9pm on weekends.

Life Hub @ Daning

Through Sunday, Daning life hub presents a sports carnival celebrating the Olympics. When customers spend more than 88 yuan, they can claim a "work-out" card with the receipt on the same day. With the card, you can experience dynamic boating, X-Box and Draw Something.

The top five performers in dynamic boating and tennis on X-Box will win a prize and be listed on the Daning Games gold medal ranking.

As the Olympic concludes, a competition for young children titled "My future is not a dream" will be hosted on Sunday.
